Ageing Skin
Anti Ageing Skin Care
How would we describe Ageing Skin
Skin which is “Ageing” will suffer with a loss of elasticity causing fine lines and wrinkles. A main cause of premature ageing is the effects of the sun and subsequent damage that ensues.
Remember a Sun Tanned Skin is a Damaged Skin!
Ageing skin is also likely to have pigmented marks (Age Spots) and can appear dull in colour. Skin under the eyes can become darkened an increase in eye folds and possible swelling under the eyes.
The skin’s pH level is important and we often relate/classify skin types by the Ph Level it has i.e. where it is in the Alkaline to Acid range and maintaining a slightly acidic pH of around 5.5 is critical.
Typical questions we get asked about Ageing Skin and some of our recommendations
On of the most common skin problems of all is that of ageing skin. Clients are waking up to the fact that if their skin is looked after properly and they become more aware of what causes premature ageing that they can do simple things to keep it looking younger longer.
We get asked:
- “How do I improve and then maintain my skin”
- “How do I slow down the ageing process” which we all know cannot be stopped altogether but we can help reduce the unattractive results of having aged skin.
- “What creams do and do not work?”
One thing to make sure you do all year round in summer and winter is use a sun protection on your skin. These are often built into moisturisers and other products which make it so easy to do, no excuse!
We would recommend the use of a daily SPF 30 to protect against the damaging and ageing effects of UVA and UVB rays. The use of Anti-Ageing ingredients includes AHA’s, Antioxidant Vitamins and Protein and Collagen simulators. Very important to assess lifestyle balance too e.g. diet and exercise.
We also provide effective treatments for Pigmentation and Skin Rejuvenation at our clinic near Exeter in Devon. For more information on this just click here www.remediesbeauty.co.uk .
A major culprit for radically changing the Ph level of the skin is the soap you use!!! So, when clients come to our clinic we always ask “What do you use to cleanse your skin?”
Some of the soaps presented to us have an equivalent alkaline level of AJAX, so would you put this on your skin?
Under our Product Type listings we have grouped together certain products that we recommend for each skin type to help you establish what is best for you.
