FAQs

Q1 - Is the sun really bad for my skin?

The skin is the largest organ of the body and it is there to protect you so you need to take care of it.

It’s no exaggeration to say that the sun is potentially your skin’s worst enemy. In fact, skin cancer, largely caused by unprotected exposure to the sun’s damaging UV rays, is the most prevalent form of cancer in the world, affecting one in five people. And it’s on the rise – recent studies suggest that depletion of the earth’s ozone layer makes shielding the skin more important than ever.

Not a sun bather, you say? Well, unless you only go out at night, your skin is still bombarded on a daily basis. Driving to work. Walking the dog. Even sitting under indoor lighting. The bottom line – if the sun is in the sky, sun protection should be on your skin!

Q2 - What is Exfoliation?

When most people hear the word "exfoliant," they often think of abrasive products that need to scratch at skin. But exfoliants can range from physical ingredients (like rice bran or grains that slough off dead skin) to chemical ingredients (like enzymes and lactic acid that eat away at dead skin), and usage depends on individual needs.

Whichever way you go about it, you need to help your body cast away skin cells that are holding on and bringing your body down. Helping your skin's natural process of ditching cells that are hanging on can improve your body skin from head to toe.

Q3- How can I improve my dry skin?

Dry skins need oil based products to combat lack of natural oils in the skin. The balance between cleanser and moisturiser is essential to achive this, plus regular use of an exfoliant to help remove dead skin cells.

Your dry skin could be caused for many reasons even through the type of product you regularly use on your skin, especially cleansers and soap.

Ideally we would like to see your skin but assessing it in our "Skin Analysis" booth. There we can point out the potential problems and suggest a treatment and/or product to improve and maintain you skin.

Our plan would be to get your skin cleaned and brought to the correct ph level (5.5) and then advise you what will maintain it for you.

Q6 - I have sun damaged skin what can I use to further prevent this?

Regular use of lightening ingredients plus anti-oxidants will improve a sun damaged skin.

Also, you must not forget to use a good SPF product not just for summer but winter as well in the exposed areas - epecially the face which gets those harmful rays all day.

We also can resolve some of these pigmentation issues using our laser systems.
